Timber Versus Steel

Roofing Battens are fundamental to the roof structure. They are load bearing and carry both the load of the roof tiles, as well as any other imposed loads.

It is fair to suggest that timber and timber battens are fast becoming the old fashioned way to build. It is a product that contains natural weaknesses and imperfections making it susceptible to damage.

Because it is a natural cellulose material it is reactive to atmospheric moisture, heat and cold which results in inconsistency in strength and quality. High-tensile steel such as that used in the production of Quikbatt’n tile battens are engineered to be light weight but unmatched in their strength and durability. This means a clean, straight, secure roof, every time.
